Roaming, wandering and missing DOGS can be one of the inevitable side events of DOG ownership. When you�re at the chihuahuagie park, it may be easy for your chihuahua to roam outside of the confines of the area. But how do you handle a roaming, wandering or even worse, a missing DOG?
The smallest breed of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Chihuahua, which stands six to nine inches at the top of the shoulders and generally weighs two to six pounds. Their size makes them excellent travel companions.
Review these tips on dealing with a missing DOG:
The Bloodhound doesn't need to smell blood to find someone who is lost. It is said that his name instead means blooded hound, or aristocratic. They actually track people because people leave a trail of skin cells with their own unique odor wherever they go.
1) Whatever you do � do not panic.
When it comes to collies there is some debate about the smooth-coat collie. Some breed organizations consider the smooth-coat and rough-coat dogs to be variations of the same breed. Others consider them to be completely seperate.
2) Remain calm by staying in one place so that your chihuahua can find its way back to you as you call its name.
The Dalmatian is the only breed of dog that gets gout. Gout is an arthritic condition that causes inflammation of the joints. Gout is usually a human condition, but, for some reason, our dalmation friends get it too. This is commonly thought to be due to inbreeding.
3) Request a friend to help you find your chihuahua so that you can remain in the last place your chihuahua saw you. While you wait for the return of your canine, ask the friend to scour the immediate area
The tibetan terrier is not a true terrier and is probably more closely related to the lhasa apso. However, the tibetan terrier is indeed from Tibet, where monks once treasured this intelligent breed of dogs as guardians of their temples.
4) After two hours assume your chihuahua is lost or stolen.
Chow chows were originally bred as food, just like cows. However, in some cases, they were also used as hunters and helpers. They were also used to keep people warm under cold conditions by cuddling up to people with their soft, warm fur.
5) Contact your veterinarian and animal shelters to post a missing DOG report.
The first breeding Weimaraners were imported to the US in 1938 by Howard Knight, a dog fancier from Rhode Island. In 1942, The Weimaraner Club of America was formed and the breed standard was created.
6) Create a missing DOG pamphlet. Include a photo of your chihuahua, along with your contact information and a nominal reward. Remember to share these photos with your vet and local animal shelters.
The name bernese mountain dog is a rough translation of the German "berner sennenhund", which literally means "bernese alpine herdsman's dog". The breed's original name was "durrbachler", after an inn where these farm dogs were bought and sold.
7) Be proactive in talking to as many neighbors and other DOG owners of the area to inquire about your DOG.
Pekingese dogs are quite small. This worked out well for their ancient masters, who were ancient Chinese royalty. These royal masters used to carry the peke dogs along in the sleeves of their royal robes.
DOG tip: To protect and identify your DOG, obtain an ID tag. These metal tags come engraved in metal, in plastic and in other materials. There are innumerous types of ID tags that fit on a wide array of DOG collars. To make it hard for thieves to commandeer your DOG, do not include your canine�s name on the ID tag.
The phal�ne is essentially the same thing as a papillon, except that it has dropped spaniel-like ears. within the first couple of months after birth the ears will either lay flat or raise up permanently. The AKC considers the Phal�ne and the Papillon to be the same breed.
