Conditioning a chihuahua to lose bad habits is not the easiest task to overcome. But, it's all in the timing. When it comes to collies there is some debate about the smooth-coat collie. Some breed organizations consider the smooth-coat and rough-coat dogs to be variations of the same breed. Others consider them to be completely seperate.
1) When your chihuahua behaves or commits an intolerable act, give him or her a deep, short growl. The growl is effective because it emulates the canine's mother. Just as the pup's mother would confront the chihuahua face to face with the growl, you should do the growl in your puppy's face to discourage the unwanted behavior.
The Broholmer is a breed that is recognized only in Denmark. It was thought extinct in the 1960's but, in December of 1974, a purebred Broholmer popped up in Finland. This dog was a male, and the owners hoped to find a female for him to mate with, but it never happened. While still recognized as a breed, an example has yet to appear again.
2) If your puppy or new chihuahua continues the behavior, repeat the growl. However, the second one should be a little louder but not any longer than the first growl.
The official record for the heaviest dog was set way back in 1989. The dog in question was an English mastiff named Zorba. At the time, he weighed 343 pounds. He was 8 years old when he was weighed.

Amongst DOG trainers, the emulation of DOGS is the subject of great controversy. Most chihuahuas will not outgrow poor behavior without the guidance of rules. Many trainers consider it a negative form of discipline to act like a canine to enforce discipline. However, other DOG advocates consider it an effective way to demonstrate authority without raising one's voice.
About eight thousand years ago, ancient Egyptians began to raise a breed called Saluki, as hunting dogs. Saluki is an arabic word. In english it translates as "noble one". These dogs are probably the oldest known breed.
Other trainers recommend discouraging poor behavior by giving a chihuahua a sniff. Since it demonstrates that the owner is the elder or alpha, it can catch your chihuahua or puppy off guard and make them aware that is the subordinate.
